The Norwegian Armed Forces, also known as Forsvaret in Norway, is the military organization responsible for protecting Norway. It includes five branches: the Norwegian Army, Royal Norwegian Navy, Coast Guard, Royal Norwegian Air Force and the Home Guard. There are also several joint departments.

In peace time, the military force is approximately 23,250 people, including civilian staff and military personnel. The total military force is about 63,250, with current military personnel and conscripts, as well as the Norwegian Home Guard, in full mobilization.
