Mojibake (Wen Zi Hua ke, IPA: [modzibake]), is the uncodified text result of text being decoded with an unintended character encoding. This is the systematic replacement of symbols by completely unrelated symbols, often using a different writing system. In places where the binary representation has been invalidated, this display can include the generic replacement character ().
