It is located on the Persian Gulf coast in the Arabian Desert. It is bordered by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to the south, the Emirate of Sharjah to the northeast, the country of Oman to the southeast, the Emirate of Ajman to the west, and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to its north.
