Denver (), officially the City and County of Denver, is the capital and most populous municipality of the U.S. state of Colorado. Denver is located in the South Platte River Valley on the western edge of the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Arapiraca is a municipality located in the center of the Brazilian state of Alagoas, some 135 km (84 mi) from the state capital, Maceió. It was founded in 1924. As of 2010, it has a population of 214.006, but IBGE estimated 233,047 inhabitants for 2020.

Arapiraca is the second largest city in Alagoas, and is known mostly for its production of tobacco, hence its nickname of "The Brazilian Tobacco Capital".
