It is situated near the Italian entrance of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, at the confluence of the Buthier and the Dora Baltea, and at the junction of the Great and Little St Bernard Pass routes.

Rougé (Breton: Ruzieg) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. It lies near Rennes. The name "Rougé" comes from the Latin "Rubiacus", means the red place.



The name was used to call "the red place" because of the high iron-composition of the ground.
