Chorramabad (persisch خرم‌آباد, DMG Ḫorramābād, auch Chorram-Abad, englisch Khorramabad) ist eine Stadt im Zāgros-Gebirge im Westen des Iran, etwa 50 Kilometer südlich von Kermānschāh und etwa 400 Kilometer südwestlich der Hauptstadt Teheran. Sie ist Hauptstadt der Provinz Lorestan und hat knapp 360.000 Einwohner, vorwiegend Luren, die Lorī sprechen und schiitische Muslime sind. Die Stadt wird mit ihrem modernen Namen zum ersten Mal im 14. Jahrhundert von Hamdallah Mustaufi in seinem Werk Nuzhat al-qulub erwähnt. In der Nähe der Stadt befinden sich die Ruinen von Diz-i Siyāh, der einstigen Hauptstadt der Atabegs von Kleinluristan (ca. 1184–1597). Nach dem Orientalisten Minorski befand sich an gleicher Stelle die sassanidische Stadt Shapurkhwast.

Chorramabad ist kein bekanntes Tourismuszentrum, besitzt aber ein sehr hübsches Stadtbild mit Sehenswürdigkeiten wie der großen aus dem Mittelalter stammenden Zitadelle Falak-ol-Aflak (der Himmel der Himmel), in der sich heute ein Museum befindet. Chorramabad ist das regionale Industriezentrum, diese beschränkt sich aber auf die Verarbeitung von landwirtschaftlichen Produkten. Mit dem Bau einer Schnellstraße Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde diese abgeschiedene Region besser erreichbar. Die Reisezeit vom Persischen Golf via Schiras nach Teheran betrug 40 bis 50 Tage und wurde durch die neue Straße auf 12 Tage reduziert.
