Albacete ist die Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen spanischen Provinz Albacete der Autonomen Gemeinschaft von Kastilien-La Mancha. Sie liegt ungefähr 200 km südöstlich von Madrid im Flachland von La Mancha. Bekannt ist sie vor allem wegen der Messerherstellung sowie durch den Circuito de Albacete, eine Rennstrecke, auf der jährlich ein Motorradlangstreckenrennen stattfindet.

Die Stadt ist Bischofssitz für das Bistum Albacete und Standort der Universität Kastilien-La Mancha. Das bis 2001 verwendete Kfz-Kennzeichen der Provinz Albacete war AB.
