Kuopio [ˈkuɔ̯piɔ] ist eine Stadt in der finnischen Region Savo. Mit 118.664 Einwohnern (Stand 31. Dezember 2018) ist sie die neuntgrößte Stadt des Landes und die größte Stadt Ostfinnlands. Kuopio ist Verwaltungssitz der Landschaft Nordsavo, Universitätsstadt, Sitz eines orthodoxen Erzbischofs sowie eines evangelisch-lutherischen Bischofs, Wintersportort und beliebtes Ferienziel.

Das Zentrum von Kuopio liegt auf einer Halbinsel am Kallavesi-See, das Stadtgebiet von Kuopio ist insgesamt 3700 Quadratkilometer groß.
