Kagoshima (jap. 鹿児島市, -shi; im Deutschen auch Kagoschima) ist eine japanische Hafenstadt an der Südwestspitze der Insel Kyūshū. Sie ist Verwaltungssitz der Präfektur Kagoshima. Die Stadt ist geprägt von der Nahrungsmittel-, Porzellan- und Textilindustrie.

In der Nähe liegt das Uchinoura Space Center. Die Stadt besitzt, allerdings in ziemlicher Entfernung, den Flughafen Kagoshima.
